Being out in the world feels like it demands everything from us; To be just another replaceable cog in an endless consuming machine. As an artist, I want to encourage you to be rebellious, take a moment to rest, then pursue your own personal creativity and curiosities.

My art practice is about connecting to the world around me and chasing any spark of joy I feel, as an act of resisting the systems that would rather I didn’t. Most often these are brief moments of peace watching my cats nap or play with my wife but can be anything from the shifting color of scales on a fish, to the cold drops of rain on a barely blooming flower. I use acrylic paint and paint markers to explore color and mark-making to capture the sights, sounds, and textures of nature to ground you in that moment and allow you a focal point to reorient yourself, before getting back out there to challenge the status quo.
